MacKillop College VIC It’s All About The Balance

The 2026 theme resonates strongly with MacKillop College. We incorporate the best of new technologies and AI in our classrooms, while remaining deeply committed to strong relationships, proven teaching practice and our Catholic mission. Students experience contemporary learning that prepares them for a rapidly evolving world, but never at the expense of human connection, wellbeing and character formation.

Our curriculum is broad, comprehensive and well-balanced, designed to help each young person grow intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially. Digital tools and one-toone devices enhance research, problem solving, collaboration and creativity, and are used where they genuinely add value to learning. At the same time, teachers continue to prioritise discussion, reflection, hands-on experiences and explicit skill development, ensuring students can think critically, write confidently and work respectfully.

Guided by the Josephite tradition and the vision “Celebrating all life, Challenging all people, Dreaming the new day”, MacKillop supports each student to reach their full potential as a lifelong learner. Strong partnerships with families, diverse co-curricular opportunities and a clear focus on wellbeing help students balance study, interests and service to others. Technology becomes a powerful servant of learning, not its driver, keeping young people at the heart of every classroom.
