St Monica’s College, Epping is takingdeliberate steps to integrate emergingtechnologies while maintaining a strongcommitment to educational excellence. Theintroduction of the SMC Generative AI Protocolsmarked a significant milestone, establishing clear,ethical guidelines for the use of AI in teachingand learning environments.

To support this initiative, the College recently hosted a Professional Learning Day dedicated to artificial intelligence. Staff engaged in structured training focused on the pedagogical applications of generative AI, exploring how it can enhance instructional design, streamline administrative tasks, and support differentiated learning.

Our approach is grounded in balance. While we embrace innovation, we remain anchored in evidence-based teaching practices that prioritise student engagement and academic rigour. The integration of AI is not an end in itself, but a means to enrich the learning experience and uphold the values that define our College community.
